| Hi folks, I have a dilemma here and wonder any experts out here tin shed some lights. I have a 2003 Lennox Furnace (model 48C-115-3), information technology's a four ton unit that sizes roughly 2100 sq.ft. unmarried zone. I have a 2 story home with a basement. The furnace is located in the basement (finished) and seems to heat the house fairly well. I noticed the fan speed board had the cool set to loftier (black wire) (this is normal every bit I know cooling needs to have fan speed set to high). However, on the board where information technology said "oestrus" it has the fan speed low (red) plugged into information technology. My furnace fan has 4 speed (goes from blackness, chocolate-brown, yellow, cerise) black being highest speed and carmine being everyman.) I take always read the fan speed should be on depression for heating and high for cooling. However, I open the Lennox manual and noticed it had a chart diagram for fan speed and read....for my unit of measurement model (48C-115-3) showed black wire (Loftier) for cooling and brown wire (med-high) for heating. Now, the unit currently has Blood-red (depression) plugged onto heating... which shows the lowest speed. Should I get out information technology solitary or switch it to manufactory recommendation at med-high? I heard ane matter but read some other. Basically I want to discover out if I could possibly damage anything past changing it to med-high. I too don't want the pressure to be too loftier since manufactory recommended med-high when it is currently set up at low. Please help. cheers, |

For cooling things are different -- moving the air makes your skin feel cooler all by itself. If the fan speed is too low it could crusade the temperature ascent across the furnace to not exist in spec and cause your heat exchanger to crack or keep tripping your high limit switch. | Well, I understand all the facts of fan speed besides loftier = colder air blown into the supply registers. As well low = warmer air but oestrus exchanger problem. I actually took the fourth dimension in the concluding 2 days to measure the difference in oestrus rise (supply minus return) and when information technology is set at med-low , the rut rising is 55 degrees (131 supply and 72 return) (house kept at 73/74.
